Alan & Ginnie's midnight flower.

Sandy, we all missed you at the meeting. We know you are not comfortable nor liking the crutches, but we are all
here to help her if you need groceries, the mail, a ride to the dr. or whatever. Give us a call. Your Pintail Neighbors.

It is official !! I purchased lot 19 earlier this week and today I signed a contract with Skaggs to build a Burti/Thompson/McBride house.  Construction work will get underway next week, and I am hopeful that there will be a minimum of disruption to the "regular" life of the Pintail residents. Note this will be the last home to be built in Pintail and then we can move on with our lives. It has taken 13 years to complete this exceptional cluster.

The house is going to be a "spec" house with handicap accommodations; thus, if you are acquainted with anyone who would like to downsize and would consider Pintail, I would welcome your introducing them to me. If I get an expression of interest "early on" they can spec their own, cabinets, counter tops, floor covering and paint. The pricing will be less than $300,000 with generous "allowances".   Bob Orben 05/03/07

As many of your have noted. There are stakes in lot # 1 that suggest that the vacant lot may have been sold.  I am pleased to confirm
that the lot has been sold and will close this week. Our new neighbors are:

Rolland and Lola Isom from Greenwood (retired).

Building will commence in due course and the builder is Skaggs.  I hope you will welcome the Isoms when they visit to watch the progress on their home. (Bob Orben,  2/26/07)

Bob Orben reports that Mary's knee operation on Wednesday, January 17th was successful and she has been moved to re-hab for a few days.  She is still in considerable pain and experiencing difficulty getting into and out of bed, which she attempt 2-3 times a day.  Mary has taken a few steps and is on pill administered pain relief. So far, so good. Each day a little more progress.  Mary appreciates your good wishes and prayers. Next week should provide her with some welcome relief from the pain and progress with her walking and getting about. My best and thank you for your interest and support.

January 27 update: Mary gets an A for effort at Columbus Regional Hospital. Mary came home on Saturday afternoon and is now under the care of her resident physician Bob. I hope that she does not sue me for malpractice. Mary continues to experience considerable pain, but cold packs and pills seem to provide temporary relief. Exercises 2 X a day are now a routine. As I get settled into my starched whites and "scrub up ", I say ado for a week or so. Thank you for your interest and prayers.

March 6 update:  Mary continues to make very good progress. She completed the initial medicare therapy about 10 days early and was released. Mary has continued with a wellness program and will start water therapy three times a week, the first of next week. Walking is not a problem, but stairs and steep grades are a challenge. Overall, all is well and on schedule.  Pain medication is still part of the daily venue and will be for some time. I think tennis is a good goal and may be attempted in the Fall. We are well and back into most of our church, social and family activities, all be it on an abbreviated time line. Many thanks for all your interest, thoughts and prayers.

This is it for regular updates.

A new addition to the Farrar household is Gracie, a beautiful young Labrador Retriever.  Jim says "
We hadn't intended to get a new dog so soon but it only took one trip to pet a bunch of puppies and we were hooked." (posted 10/25/06)

Meet Caleb Dale Wright

After a labor of love lasting several years, Jim Farrar completed his historically accurate scale model of a German WW1 fighter.

We'll get Jim to tell us more about it, and post an update when it makes it's maiden flight, probably in September.
